Mary Lucille (Winiger) Massey, 85, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at her home.

Mary was born on December 4, 1939, in Evansville to the late Clarence and Mildred (Steinkamp) Winiger. Mary met her husband, John Massey, at the Economy Food Center where they were both working at the time. They were engaged on Valentine's Day in 1958 and married on January 10, 1959, by Father Clement Hut at St. Agnes Catholic Church. They were married for 66 years, 10 months and 13 days. Mary enjoyed making counted cross stitch items for family and loved taking bus trips.

Mary is survived by her husband, John Massey; sisters, Betty Orth, Dorothy (Don) Whalen, Rita (Mel) Edwards and Martha (Robin) Hahn; sisters-in-law, Sharon Winiger and Delcie Winiger; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and one great great niece.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Gary W. Massey in 2025; by brothers, Clarence "Bud" (Verna) Winiger, Louis Winiger, Clyde Winiger and Jim Winiger.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Rev. Luke Hassler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 5:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a vigil service held at 4:00 PM. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 AM until service time on Monday at Corpus Christi Church, 5528 Hogue Road.

A special thank you goes out to nephew Chris Winiger, his wife, Jeanne, their daughter, Katie and Deaconess Hospice Care for all of their kind and compassionate care.
