Mary Anne McCabe

Mary Anne McCabe, 71, of Oxnard, CA, passed away on October 21, 2023 in Oxnard. Mary Anne was born in South Bend, IN, to Fred and Nanette Baumgartner, on March 7, 1952. She graduated from Adolfo Camarillo High School in 1970. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of LaVerne and a Master of Science in Administration from Pepperdine University. She worked in school business for 30 years, rising from Account Clerk to Director/Assistant Superintendent of Business. She ultimately retired to devote time to her true calling: being a grandmother. She enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting and sewing. She volunteered in the St John's Hospital Surgery Waiting Area and served a term as the auxiliary president.
Mary Anne is survived by her children, Michelle (Rob) of Sammamish WA, Jonathan (Beth) of Oxnard, Patricia of Oak View, CA, Nathaniel (Sydney) of Whidbey Island, WA, Christopher (Novia) of Lacey, WA, and twelve grandchildren; by her siblings Kathy of Ventura, CA, Jeanne (Ken) of Irvine, CA, Fred (Andie) of Chehalis, WA, Ruth (Anthony) of Delta Junction, AK, and 7 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents, Fred and Nanette, her brother, Thomas, and her sister, Nancy.
Mary Anne was a special woman and we are fortunate our lives were touched by her. We will have a Celebration of Life gathering at the Courtyard by Marriott in Oxnard, at 600 E Esplanade Dr, Oxnard, CA 93036 on December 1, 2023 at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, an organization close to her heart since 1986, donate.cancer.org.
