Frederick Morgan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care - Pembroke Pines Chapel on Feb. 20, 2026.
October 20, 1965~February 08, 2026

Frederick William Morgan, Jr., age 60, passed into eternity on February 8, 2026 on the peaceful waters of his beloved Ventura Harbor, aboard his proudly christened houseboat, "Fanene" (to honor his mother and her American Samoan heritage).

Freddy, as he was affectionately known, was born into a loving family in San Diego, California on October 20, 1965, the second of five children. He was very close to his parents and siblings and often referred to his mother as his best friend.

Freddy was blessed with incredible athleticism, which shone throughout his high school and college years, culminating into proudly representing American Samoa in 1991 (Javelin Throw) at both the World Championships in Athletics in Tokyo, as well as the South Pacific Games in Papua, New Guinea. Freddy's love of athletics continued throughout fatherhood, where he coached his two daughters in various sports throughout their childhood and into college. Additionally, a couple of his nephews and nieces, as well as his eldest grandson, were blessed to have been coached by him when they started playing sports.

Freddy took great pride in helping the many servicemen and women he encountered as a Morale Welfare and Recreation Director aboard Naval Base Ventura County (Port Hueneme and Point Mugu). He was instrumental in creating exciting events for the Single Sailor Program in addition to the countless hours he dedicated to their Wounded Warrior Training Camp. His journey on this earth was one marked by an unwavering desire to serve selflessly.

Freddy will be remembered for the way he loved his family more than life itself, and the pride he had in being a father and grandfather. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and service in all that we do.

Freddy was preceded in death by his loving father and namesake, Frederick William Morgan and brothers in-law: John Michael Jones and Kenneth William MacLeod.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his adoring mother, Lalopu'a Morgan; daughters: Claire (Kevin) Graham, Alexandra (Josh) Morgan Freeman and grandsons Bode Morgan and Huxley Graham.

Memorial Service to be held on Friday, March 30, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.
