Mary Jane (Burton) McDonald, age 64 of Crawfordsville passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Indianapolis on September 30, 1960 to the late Willard Burton and Rosalie (Lang) Leeper. She was raised by her stepfather, William Delbert Leeper.

Mary attended Southport High School. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Scott McDonald, on August 8, 2002 in Sevierville, Tennessee. Mary loved her family fiercely. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and treated her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She also enjoyed traveling, swimming, and spending time in the sun.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Shannon Sparks; grandchildren, Jesse Sparks, Toni Compton, Mason Sparks, Andrew Sparks, and Talayla Theadford; siblings, Jackie Bundy and Phillip Burton; step-siblings, Sue, Paula, and Anna; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Scott; son, David Wayne Sparks Jr.; sister, Willanna Durivage; and step-brother, Jeff Leeper.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington Street in Crawfordsville on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
