Mary Louise McMennamy McCollum of Midland, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Louise was born in Plainview, Texas, in 1946, to Joe and Rebecca McMennamy. She attended school in Hale Center and Cotton Center, graduating as Valedictorian from Cotton Center High School in 1964. She married Dwayne McCollum in February of 1964, and they made their home in Hale Center where she lovingly devoted all of her time to raising her two children, Tony and Robbie. In 1979, Louise and Dwayne moved their family to Midland, Texas, where she worked for the Hilton Hotel in Midland as a bookkeeper for a year before going to work at Greenwood ISD, serving the district for twenty-four years and retiring in 2004. Her family was her whole world; she loved them fiercely and unconditionally. Her greatest joys were attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and school ceremonies, attending family celebrations, and visiting with her sisters via 3-way phone calls.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 61 years; her son Tony and his wife Cathy of Midland; her daughter Robbie Finley and husband Lance of Gatesville, Texas; her four grandchildren: Caddie and Aimee McCollum of Midland; Lauren Finley Hollar and husband Brandon of North Pole, Alaska; and Seth Finley of Gatesville, Texas; her two sisters: Teresa Copeland and husband Johnny of Temple, Texas, and JoAnn Seabolt and husband John of Lorton, Virginia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved and cherished her and will miss her dearly.
