Mary Michl Obituary
It is with great sadness that the children of Mary Carol Lancaster Michl, age 86, said their final farewells as Mary proceeded to Heaven.
Mary Carol was born in Williamsport to the late George and Ida (Cruz) Lancaster, Sr.
Mary Carol graduated from the Williamsport High School. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Montoursville and later Avis United Methodist Church. She worked for many years at Stone Container in Williamsport and in Liberty, MO. Mary Carol spent many of her golden retirement years volunteering at Avis Elementary School where two of her granddaughters attended. She was active in United Methodist Women.
Mary Carol was preceded in death by her husband John Michl; infant son, Thomas Bower; sister Ethel; two brothers, George Jr. and Edward; son-in-law Stephen Parag and best friend Pat Aungst.
She is survived by her son Mark (Debby) Bower, daughters Janet Parag & Dianne (Gerald) Goodreau, brother Roy Lancaster, Sr.; sister-in-law Betty Lancaster, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Mary Carol's children gathered together on the evening of her passing and toasted to many happy memories and faux pas, her years of Go-Go- boots and dancing with Pat Aungst, and vacationing with Terry & Shirley Guy.
Friends and Family are invited to join in a Celebration of Life Service, Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Avis United Methodist Church, 215 Prospect Ave., Avis. There will be a visitation from 11:00am – 12:00pm and the service will begin at noon with Pastor Brian Moyer officiating.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Avis United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are being handled by Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
