Age 78 of Mazon, Illinois, past away on October 28, 2025 at Serenity Estates in Morris, Illinois.
Born December 29, 1946 in Morris, Charlene was a daughter of Leroy Charles and Delores Rose (Emanuelson) Gordon. She was raised and educated in Morris, graduating from Morris High School with the class of 1965. Charlene also spent eight years living in Oregon before returning to Mazon, where she made her home for the remainder of her life.
Charlene had a deep and abiding love for her cats, who brought her great comfort and joy. Creative and resourceful, she loved making things with her hands, including wreaths, flower arrangements, and birdhouses crafted from repurposed materials. In true Charlene fashion, she even once painted a car by hand in her favorite color, blue. She loved to draw, and it was through her art that she shared a quiet part of herself with those she loved. Charlene enjoyed shopping and found joy in simply spending time browsing.
Survivors include her children: David L. (the late Josey) Clower of Wisconsin, Mardy A. (Jodi Gutzman) Clower of Morris, Darcy (Mike) Smith of Illinois and Gary (Bridget) Michel of Oregon; grandchildren: David G. Clower, Wyatt F. (Julia) Clower, Valerie (Scott) Stuckey, Kaitlyn R. Clower, Michelle Michl, Gary Michl Jr., Sarah Colton, Mike Leura, Alicia (Josh) Rakes and Mason Hochevar; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Jamie Gordon of Morris and John Gordon of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special close friend and house keeper Amber Howard.
