Mary Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jeter & Son Funeral Home - Cedar Hill on Feb. 6, 2026.
Mary Benedicte Moore, 72, was born on October 14, 1953 in Covina, California to Joseph and Joan Meier, and passed away January 5, 2026 of natural causes in the home she and her husband, Ralph Robert Moore, shared in Cedar Hill, Texas.

Her two sisters, Ellen and Katie, predeceased her.

In her early twenties Mary moved from the Los Angelos area to Santa Barbara, where she was hired as a quality control inspector at Infomag. In late 1978, at an employee-only Christmas dinner sponsored by Infomag at a local restaurant, she happened to sit next to a fellow Infomag employee, Rob Moore, and over the course of the dinner the two talked non-stop to each other, finishing each other's sentences, and by the dessert course fell in love.

In 1979 the two of them moved to San Francisco where they found jobs in banking, then in 1982 they decided to drive across America to find a new home. They wound up in Maine, where they remained for six years, both of them now working in the insurance industry. In late 1988 they uprooted themselves again, driving across America and Canada, from Palm Beach, Florida to Anchorage, Alaska, spending 80 days on the road, winding up in Texas. They lived only for each other.Mary died 2 weeks before their 45th wedding anniversary, in the bed she and Rob shared. Rob woke up at one point, reached to his left to make sure his girl was okay, and felt how cold her hands were.

Everyone who knew Mary will miss her. She was that kind of good person.
