Mary Teresa Myers

Mary Teresa Severs Myers, affectionately known as Teresa, passed away peacefully at the age
of 96 at The Pinnacle of Louisville Memory Care on June 22, 2025. She returned to her heavenly
Father, after a long life filled with love, faith, and devotion.
Born on October 15, 1928, in Meade County, Kentucky, Teresa was the daughter of Joseph and
Bernadine Pike. She was raised on the family farm alongside her siblings, where the values of
hard work, family, and faith were deeply rooted and never left her heart.
A devout Catholic throughout her life, Teresa was a faithful parishioner of St. Michael's Church
and later St. Peter the Apostle. Her spiritual devotion was reflected in the kindness, warmth,
and grace with which she lived every day. To all who knew her, Teresa was a beacon of
light-compassionate, genuine, and grounded in her love for God and others.
Teresa found deep joy in the simple things-gardening, sewing, cooking, walking, and especially
spending time in conversation with her family and friends. She was a devoted mother and
grandmother, always putting her loved ones first. She was a University of Louisville Cardinals
fan, that loved cheering on her team during games.
She is preceded in death by her two beloved husbands, Lawrence Lamar "Buster" Severs and
Bertram "Bert" C. Myers, as well as her sons Dennis Loyd Severs and Curt Silvers, and her great-
grandson Lincoln Spurrier.
Teresa leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving children: daughters Diana Reece and
Deloris Spurrier (Jack Spurrier), and son Gary Severs. She is also survived by her daughters-in-
law, Suzanne Severs and Essie Silvers, along with 9 cherished grandchildren and 6 great-
grandchildren; brother, John Pike; and sisters, Elizabeth Hobbs and Bernadine Schmell.
Her passing leaves a deep void, but we take comfort in knowing she has returned to her
Heavenly Father. May we all remember Teresa not by how her life ended, but by the grace and
joy with which she lived it.

A memorial Mass and celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
