Mary J. Nelson, age 80, passed away peacefully at Aspirus Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids on September 13, 2025.

The family will hold a private celebration of life.

Mary was born on June 2, 1945, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

She cherished the time she spent with her family and created countless memories with them over the years. She had a love for adventure and always enjoyed trips to Las Vegas. She also liked to try her luck with the Powerball every now and then, always with a hopeful spirit.

A true western movie fan, she especially loved watching Gunsmoke. She had a tender heart for animals and took great joy in caring for her beloved fur babies, Stasha, Kitty, and Joey. In her younger years, she found happiness in riding her horses and sharing special moments at horse shows with her daughter on Wednesdays.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Lance) Korslin; grandchildren, Crystal Cornwell, Benjamin Korslin (Chelsie Burnett), and Kassandra Korslin; great-grandchildren, Madison Skytland (Benjamin Poyer), Michael Skytland (Maddie Dampier), Emma Jean Korslin, Alivia May Korslin, and Eli Michael Korslin; sister, Elaine Barron; and many nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Helgie Nelson; parents, Leonard Anderson and stepmom Rachel Anderson; and sister, Sandra Johnson.

Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
