Mary Louise Nunez, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family in Richardson, Texas. Born on December 14, 1935, in Houston, Texas, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Emiliano and Anita Padilla. Her life was a testament to the power of selflessness, dedication, and the enduring strength of family bonds. She fought a good fight, finished her course and kept the faith and has heard the Lord Jesus say, well done, thy good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of thy Lord.

Mary's journey through life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her children, her community and church family. She was a devoted mother to Elsa Nunez, Roberto Nunez Jr. and his wife Sylvia, Ricardo Nunez and his wife Genoveva, Maricela Benavides and her husband Pedro, and Gabriela Friend and her husband Galen. Mary's legacy continued to flourish through her loving grandchildren-Angelica, Cynthia, Johnathon, Jennifer, Janie, Daniela Renee, Michelle, Mary, Tina, Daniel, Laura Carolina, Alonzo Gabriel, Alyssa Gabriela, and Allen Gamaliel-as well as her fourteen great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Mary's professional path reflected her nurturing spirit, as she served with compassion as a teacher's aide at Garland ISD. Her caring nature also shone brightly in her work at an import/export company in Laredo, Texas, where she was known for her diligence and warm-heartedness. Mary's colleagues and the many children she supported will remember her as a guiding light who uplifted everyone around her.

In every aspect of her life, Mary embodied the virtues of a prayer warrior, always ready to offer comfort and guidance through her unwavering faith. Her outgoing personality and genuine concern for others made her a beloved figure in her community. Mary's charitable endeavors and her role as a caregiver were hallmarks of her generous spirit. Those who knew her were touched by her capacity to give so freely of herself.

A godly woman to her core, Mary was an exemplar of living a faith-filled life. She loved to study the Bible. Her home was always a place of warmth, where the aroma of her delicious cooking welcomed friends and family. As a great cook, she not only nourished bodies but also souls, often sharing stories and laughter over meals that were made with love.

Mary's impact on the world was immeasurable, and the words that best capture her essence are loving, faith-filled, and selfless. She was always present in her family's lives, offering support, guidance, and unconditional love. Her strength and devotion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
