Sergio Manuel Nava Jr.

Sergio Manuel Nava was born on March 1, 1951, in Havana, Cuba., and came to America in 1961. On November 8, 2025 Sergio passed from this life and went to be with his savior Jesus Christ. Sergio's work history included Republic National Bank and Western Electric. Sergio was the former pastor of Living Word Assembly of God, and the current pastor of Encounter Fellowship in Garland where he has led many people to serve the Lord.

Sergio had many hobbies and interests which included sports, weightlifting, cruising, building model airplanes, and collecting Civil War memorabilia. He also enjoyed building a Christmas village in his house and decorating his front yard during the holidays.

Sergio was accomplished in martial arts, to the point of becoming a double black belt in Judo. He had many accomplishments in life, winning multiple awards in Judo and was part of the state championship team in track and field during high school, as well as being a state champion several years in a row, and was slated for the Olympic team.

Sergio is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Nava, son, Shawn Nava and wife Zalina, daughter, Nicole Cloud-McNatt and husband Adam, grandchildren, Alexa Wednesday Ellis, Christopher Austin Horan, Aiden Christian Nava and Aaron Christian Nava, sister, Ileana Fernandez and husband Jose, nephew, Joseph Fernandez and niece, Andrea Fernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents Sergio Manuel Nava, Sr. and Ofelia Arcadia Nava.

Sergio leaves behind a legacy of service to his family and his community. He changed the lives of many through his dedication to serving his Savior and his congregation. His love and warm personality will be greatly missed.
