Mary Ann Nyman, daughter of Lawrence and Bernice (Cider) Rabideau, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Luther Home. She was born on May 28, 1942, in Marinette, WI. Mary Ann graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1956 and from Marinette High School in 1960. She is a member of Holy Family Parish (to include St. Joseph's Catholic Church) in Marinette and Resurrection Catholic Church in Menominee.
She was married to Gary Nyman on September 28, 1973, in Chicago, IL; he preceded her in death on August 24, 2025. Mary Ann worked in five tri-city businesses over her 50 year working career, Wisconsin Telephone being her favorite. Mary Ann is survived by her children, Daniel (Lynne) Nyman of Crivitz, Missy (Bob) Bastian, Lynn (Gilbert) Rodriguez, Kelly (Chuck) Bird, Gary Jr. (Michelle) Nyman, and Christopher Nyman of Menominee. Many grandchildren; and great grandchildren survive. Also surviving is her brother, Lawrence Rabideau Jr.
Among those passing away were her parents, Lawrence and Bernice Rabideau, her paternal grandparents, Louis and Louise Rabideau; her maternal grandparents, John and Antoinette Cider; her in-laws, Ernest and Helen Nyman; husband, Gary Nyman; a grandson, Johnnie James Lewis; a sister and brother in law, Jean and Ron McMahon; a brother, James Rabideau and his wife, Donna; Gary's sister and brother in law, Carol and Robert Ebsch; and many aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
During her married life, she never was without a pet dog or cat. In the past few years, sadly she lost three pets: a Mini-Doxi and two cats. She and Gary took the loss, extremely hard.
Mary Ann was very faithful to her upbringing. She had belonged, for many years to the Perpetual Adoration Chapel at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She also belonged to several missions and believed they helped her get over some hurdles and difficulties with her life and helped her to get to her age.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette on Friday, September 12th from 9-10:45am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Resurrection Parish, Menominee at 11am with Rev. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, only a few rows from her parents and grandparents.
