Mary Ellen Olszewski, 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Mary Ellen was born on May 17, 1943, in Wisconsin to the late Sylvester and Clara (Roidt) Riha. Mary married David Olszewski, on November 12, 1966, at St. Mary's Church in Tish Mills. Mary Ellen was a former healthcare worker and most recently a photo touch up artist.
Mary Ellen loved trips to upper Michigan with her husband David, hunting for mushrooms with her brother, playing games and dining out with her sister and friends. She enjoyed treating her grandchildren to ice cream at the beach and fishing with them off of the pier. Her private time was spent creating beautiful works of art for family, friends, and her church. Mary's faith in God and daily devotion to praying the rosary for family and friends was indeed her greatest gift to us all.
Survivors include her children, Elaine (Bart) Steckler, Paul (Kris) Olszewski, and Thomas Olszewski; one sister, Karen (Larry) Kinjerski, and one brother-in-law, Roger Olszewski, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents, Sylvester and Clara Riha; in-laws, Edward and Delores Olszewski; her brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Joanne Riha.
Mary's life will be celebrated with a visitation on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kewaunee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM with Fr. George Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family, online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
