Mary Janette Pate

Mary Janette Pate, age 85, passed away in Jackson, TN on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Her Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 12:00 noon at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Connerley officiating. Burial will follow at the Bradford Cemetery, 351 W. Main Street in Bradford, TN. Visitation for Mrs. Pate will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Mrs. Pate was born on February 27, 1936, in Memphis, TN to her parents, William and Evelyn Walker. She was a homemaker in Brownsville. She was a faithful member of the Brownsville Baptist Church. She was member of the Review Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was a graduate of Union University in Jackson, TN and was a proud member of Chi Omega Sorority. She was survived by two sons; one brother, Bill Walker (June) and one brother-in-law, Bro. Jerry Spencer; four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Pate, Sr.; her parents, William and Evelyn Brandon Walker and one sister, Sue Spencer. Pallbearers for the Mrs. Pate will be Ben Pate, Sam Pate, Jon Pate, Brandon Walker, Rick Hooper, Van Spencer and Dan Spencer. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators www.wycliffe.org All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
