Mary Ellen Conley Pendland, 72, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at her home.
She was born on March 31, 1952 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Clyde and Raney Eldridge Conley.
Mary was a true homemaker, who loved her family dearly. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Lower Rock Lick Enterprise Baptist Church in Hillsboro, Kentucky.
She enjoyed going to church and attending church activities, quilting, sewing, her flowers and plants, gardening, working in her yard, traveling to state parks and going to yard sales.
Mary was a family person. She loved taking care of her grandkids, going to family outings and taking care of her dogs. She was a collector of Americana décor, Boyds Bears, Raggedy Ann and anything red, white and blue.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Pendland, three brothers, Eddie Conley, Gary Ray Conley and Jimmy Conley and four sisters, Brenda Lou Conley, Betty Jean Conley and twin sisters, Maxine and Irene Conley.
Survivors include her long-time companion, Wayne Wagoner of Morehead, one son, Alex Pendland (Jennifer) of Lexington, Kentucky, one daughter, Sheila Fawns (Darrin) of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, two sisters, Madeline McKee (Terry) of Muses Mill, Kentucky and Cathy Wilson (Denny) of Morehead, six grandchildren, Lyndon Payne, Noah Pendland, Logan Pendland, Joshua Fawns, Cassandra Fawns and Seth Fawns, three great-grandchildren, Levi Fawns, Rosalyn Fawns and Clayton Fawns and several step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 27, 2024 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Willie Skaggs, Jr. and Brother Herbie Stallard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Big Run Cemetery in Fleming County.
Visitation is after 12:00 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lyndon Payne, Joshua Fawns, Seth Fawns, Darrin Fawns, Jeremy Thurman, Chris Wagoner, Denny Wilson and Brian Molihan.
Honorary pallbearer will be Terry McKee, Jr.
