Mary Katherine Perkins 93, widow of Freddie Perkins who died in 1999, joined him in eternal rest on Sunday Sept. 7 while surrounded by her loving family. Katherine was born March 23, 1932 to the late Bascom and Callie Hager Peel in Jessamine County being one of their 4 children. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Kat also enjoyed fishing with Freddie and was aways available to run his errands when he was working as an electrician. She leaves her legacy with her daughter Donna, husband Ralph Preston who brought Jacqueline Duggins, husband Anthony and Bradley Preston wife, Heather into her life and son William Perkins, wife Jody who brought Craig Perkins, wife Tabatha, Christina Perkins Smith, husband Anthony and Bella Lucille Perkins to add to her family and they added 12 great grandchildren to Katherine’s family. Those who will be first to greet her in heaven will be her grandson William Michael Perkins, her sister Ann Robinson, and brothers Bobby Peel, and William Peel. There are many memories left to her many nieces, nephews and extended family members. The Remembrance Service will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 15, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and she will be laid to rest beside her husband in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens following the Service. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Craig Perkins, Brad Preston, Anthony Smith, Christina Smith, Anthony Duggins, and Jackie Duggins . The family will greet friends on Sunday Sep. 14, beginning at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM. Donations may be made in memory of Mary Katherine to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital. “ Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.” Arrangements are entrusted to Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home and we would like to express our deepest sympathy to Katherine’s family and friends.
