Rocky Mount, NCMrs. Mary Lynch Phillips, age 80, of
Rocky Mount, North Carolina transitioned on May 21, 2025.
Mary Lynch Phillips was born on June 7, 1944, in Halifax County to the late Roosevelt Lynch and Louvenia Lynch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse H. Phillips whom she was married to for 55 years, and two sons: Michael D. Phillips and Jeffrey C. Phillips, two sisters: Fannie M. Jones and Connie Lynch, five brothers: Lorenzo, David, Joseph, Sherman, and Donald Lynch.
She leaves to cherish her memory four sons: Ray Phillips(Stephanie) Jesse Phillips(Talitha), Marcellious Phillips(April), Timothy Bryant (Carolyn), five daughters: Barbara Williams, Evelyn Mckoy (Rudy), Lisa Howard (Shawn), Sherlene Phillips (Marvin), and Rochell Phillips, two daughters-in-love: Shearin Phillips and Tiawanna Phillips, 36 grandchildren, 40 great - grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 4 sisters: Diane Cooper, Brenda Battle (Charles), Sylvia Williams(Chris), and Sherlene Atkinson(Buster), three brothers: Otis Hendricks, Roosevelt Hendricks Jr, and Charles Lynch (Beatrice), three bonus brothers: William Phillips (Juanita), Johnny Phillips (Marguerite), and Larry Phillips(Valerie), three bonus sisters: Helen Lancaster, Barbara Artis, and Linda Cooper, and a host of nieces and nephews, whom she treated as her own.
Mary was a faithful member and Evangelist of Rocky Mount Deliverance Center under the late Great Dr. Mary P. Barnes for 50+ years, where she served as her nurse. She was very active in her church, until her health started to fail, even then she would say I'm going to church, even in her last days she wanted to be at her church home.
She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was loved by all; she had a special way of making you feel like her favorite!! Mary lived the life of a true Christian, she worked hard to make sure her children and grandchildren knew the lord. She will be truly missed!!!!
A Visitation will be held for Mrs. Phillips Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Rocky Mount Deliverance Center, 1329 Dogwood Street in
Rocky Mount, North Carolina beginning at 1:00 pm. The Interment will take place immediately after the service at the Bakers Cemetery,
Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
