Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Progress Baptist Church in McComb for Mary "Carolyn" Rimes, 87, of the Progress community, who passed away Wednesday May 15, 2024 at her residence. Interment will be at Progress Cemetery in Progress. Bro. Jeff Rimes and Bro. Wayne Hall will officiate the services. Bro. Joe Young will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Progress Baptist Church.
Carolyn was known for being a great cook. She loved flowers, shopping, and dressing up. But most of all, she loved her family and would fight for them. She was a longtime member of Progress Baptist Church for over sixty years.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Charles Rimes, Sr.; her Parents, Perry & Ina Smith Watts; one Son, Ricky Earl Rimes; and seven Siblings.
She is survived by her Son, Chuck Rimes (Amy), of Progress; her Daughter, Carol Ann Rowell (Sammy), of Progress; seven Grandchildren, Taylor Rimes, Laken Rimes, Jody Rowell (Heather), Cherie Burkeen (Larry), Charlie Rowell (Jessica), Stevie Rimes, Chris Rimes; and eight Great Grandchildren, Remleigh, Carson, Daxon, Madeline, Allison, Brittany, Brenton, Waylon.
Pallbearers will be Aubrey Rimes, Howard Alford, Cavin Allen, Ray Rimes, Dean Smith, and Carl Knippers.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Theresa Creel, Kim Smith, Leon Morris, and Compassus Hospice for their loving care over the past several months.
