Mary Ringener Obituary
Irene was born on June 29, 1934 in Big Spring. She is the daughter of Artie Williams & Opal Clanton Williams and the granddaughter of James C. & Mary Elizabeth Clanton. She was a lifetime resident of Howard County and member of First Baptist. She married Merel Ringener on July 12, 1950 in Big Spring.
Irene worked over 30 years in the billing department for Cosden, later Fina. Her family, especially her husband and son were her life. She always put others ahead of herself.
Irene is survived by her husband of 74 years: Merel Ringener of Big Spring; son: Scott Ringener of Big Spring; brother: Ronnie Williams (Pam) of Lubbock; niece: Keely Garcia (Nick) of Colorado; and nephew: Zane Williams of Dubuque, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

I worked with Irene in the computer room at Cosden in 1978. She was always so sweet and encouraging to a young guy just starting out. She also played a very important role in my life. She and Mary Smith played "matchmaker" for me and a young lady that became my wife, and we just celebrated 47 years of marriage on May 16th. Irene will forever hold a special place our hearts. Debbie's and my prayers go out to the entire Ringener family for peace and strength at this time. May God strengthen and bless each and every one of you!
