Mary Ringer Obituary
A Celebration of Life Service is set for December 22, 2023, at 10:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church in Oakwood.
Born on January 17, 1931, in Newberry, S.C., Mary was the daughter of the late Edgar and Edna Paysinger. A graduate of Newberry College who loved teaching. She devoted many years to her cherished husband, Alfred Ringer, who passed away in 2021 after a 70-year marriage, and her three children.
Survivors include her sister, Edna (Eugene Ferg) Jackson of Oakwood Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Kathryn (David) Herndon of Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Edgar "Ed" (Debbie) Ringer of Grayson, Ga. and Dr. Dave (Kayleen) Ringer of Eatonton, Ga. Mary is also survived by eight grandchildren: Heather (Kevin) Martin of Alpharetta, Ga., Jennifer (Mike) Dunn from Snellville, Ga., Matthew (Lauren) Ringer from Canton Ga., Andrew (Alison) Ringer of Eatonton, Ga., Joshua (Bailey) Ringer from Eatonton, Ga., Isaac (Laura) Ringer from Eatonton, Ga., Abbie (Josh) Dugan from Alpharetta, Ga., and Anna Ruth Ringer from Athens, Ga., She is also survived by two step-grandchildren: Tracey Reece from Sautee Nacoochee, Ga. and Nancy McClure from Hiram, Ga. Additionally, Mary is survived by 18 great-grandchildren and 1 step-great granddaughter.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations should go to Christ Lutheran Church of Oakwood Ga., Franklin Graham Samaritans Purse or Best Friends Animal Rescue.
