Mary Lou Risman

Mary Lou Risman, age 74, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. She was born on October 2, 1949 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Ernest and Roberta (Bunker) Branch. Her early life was spent in Arkansas City. She graduated from high school and later married her husband Eddie Risman there in 1986. The couple moved to Grove 20 years ago.
Mary loved children, and in addition to raising her own children, she was a caring foster parent. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was outgoing and friendly, making friends wherever she went. Mary enjoyed conversation and was knowledgeable on many subjects. It was always a pleasure to be in her presence. She was a teacher's aide at Grove Public Schools and enjoyed reading to the children. During quiet times, sewing was a hobby she delighted in, and her talents showed in her finished products. Her sons and grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great joy, and she was exceptionally proud of all of them.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Left to cherish her memory, her husband Eddie Risman, Jr,; her two sons Micheal F. Steiner (Taylor) from Bixby, Oklahoma, and Richard B. Steiner of Claremore, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Foundation Freewill Baptist Church, 23800 US Hwy 59, Grove, OK 74344. Burial will follow at Springside Cemetery near Arkansas City, KS at 2 pm.
