Mary C Roberts

Mary Roberts, age 76 of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah after a brief illness. She was born on November 29, 1946 to the late David and Joyce (Grissman) Alt in Green Bay, Wisconsin. On June 10, 1967 she married Roger Roberts, who preceded her in death on February 7, 2017. Mary enjoyed bingo, slot machines and gambling. She loved Elvis, writing poetry and collecting jewelry. She enthusiastically watched the Packers play, and was sometimes heard coaching the team. Above all else, Mary loved her family and spending time with them. Whether a BBQ or just visiting, Mary enjoyed that time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Stacy Roberts and Lori (Emeterio) Soto, grandchildren; Levi Lane, Amber (special friend Jerame) Lane, Darrin Lane Jr., Emily (Dylan Koehler) Lane, Summer Lane, Isiah Soto, Gabriella (special friend Harry) Nellessen, great grandchildren; Felix, Brody, Ava, Braylee and Dawsyn. Mary is further survived by her sister, Joan (John) Alt, brother, Mark (Lisa) Alt, sister in law, Cato Alt as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Roger, great grandson, Solomon Lane and her brothers; John and Joey Alt.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St, Appleton beginning at 4:00pm, with a memorial service to follow at 6:30. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established by the family.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah, especially nurse Adam, for the wonderful care given to Mary during her stay.
