Mary Ann Rosa, age 83, of Smithfield passed away at home peacefully on Monday August 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on June 2, 1942, she was the daughter of Mary and Raymond Cesaretti. Preceded in death by her devoted parents and her cherished son, Lawrence Rosa, Mary Ann's legacy continues through her family. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca DelGallo, and her husband David; her son, Jeffrey Rosa, and his wife, Debra; and her adored grandchildren, Kyla DelGallo, Joseph DelGallo, Gabriella Rosa, Annabella Rosa, and Jeffrey John Rosa. She is also survived by her best friends, her sisters Elaine Prior and her husband Dave and Susan Vendettuoli and her husband Tony.
Each of them carries a piece of her spirit; a testament to the love and guidance she provided throughout their lives. She also leaves behind her grand dog Rocco, who she proudly states she picked, and loved providing him with his favorite Stella Doro's.
Throughout her career, Mary Ann touched many lives. Her time at Greenville Nursery School was a testament to her loving nature as she cared for children until she was 78 years old. In addition to her work at the school, she served as a caregiver for her grandchildren, a role she cherished deeply.
Mary Ann enjoyed spending time at the beach, traveling, and celebrating all of her grandchildren's accomplishments. Housekeeping was not just a chore for Mary Ann; it was an expression for her love for her home and her family. Her unconditional love and support were the bedrock of their lives, and her presence will be forever missed.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Memorial Mass, which will be held Saturday August 23rd at 10am in St. Michael's Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be private. Visitation respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or HopeHealth Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 St. Jude Children's Research Hospital HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center
