Mary Dianne Scalise, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023, at her home in Granbury, Texas. She was born on August 23, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Edithe and Tom Hill. Dianne grew up in the Garden Oaks neighborhood of Houston, Texas.
As a student at Reagan High School, Dianne was an active member of the Reagan Red Coats as Assistant Drum Major. Her cheerful spirit and dedication to her school made her a cherished member of the student body. After graduating, Dianne joined Southwestern Bell, where she worked for several years.
In 1962, Dianne married her high school sweetheart, Terry Scalise, a Houston Police officer. Their union was blessed with two children, Tommy and Tracie. Dianne dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her family, and her role as a wife and mother brought her immeasurable joy.
In 2003, after a successful career, Dianne retired from the Klein Independent School District.
Following retirement, Dianne and Terry settled down in Sunrise Beach, Texas, nestled on the shores of Lake LBJ.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Donna Morgan. Dianne leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her devoted husband, Terry Scalise, their son Tommy and his wife Kathy Scalise, their daughter Tracie and her husband Michael Reed, and brother Barry Fisher and his wife Michele.
Dianne's greatest joy was being a grandmother, and she cherished her role in the lives of her grandchildren. Lovingly known as 'Mompy', Dianne leaves behind Sydney and her husband Kyle Thornell, Collin and his wife Summer Reed, Olive Scalise, Cash Scalise, and Leo Scalise. Her great-grandchildren, Ledger James Reed, Forrest Alton Reed, and Maisie Allyn Thornell brought her immense pride and happiness.
Dianne Scalise will be remembered for her warm smile, her generous heart, and her unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of kindness and strength will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
There will be a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
