In Loving Memory of Franklin Kuhn

November 28, 1947 – September 3, 2025

On Wednesday evening, September 3, at his home in Pecan Plantation, Franklin Kuhn completed his courageous journey after a ten-month battle with a brain tumor. Though given only weeks to live in January, he defied all odds to pass peacefully in his sleep.

Frank was born on November 28, 1947, in Escondido, California, to the late Frank and Margaret Kuhn Sr. Shortly thereafter, the family relocated to Appleton, Minnesota, where Frank attended school until the age of eighteen. With his parents' permission, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, choosing to serve in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Division. His seven years of service included time in Vietnam, where he bravely fought for his country.

Following his honorable discharge, Frank pursued a college education and rekindled his love for playing the drums. His high school band "The Vanguards" would annually reunite for weekend jam sessions, keeping their Rock & Roll music alive.

In 1990, Frank met Rosemary, a recent widow, in Vista, California. Their shared passion for flying led them and their beloved Cessna to settle in Pecan Plantation Airpark in 2000. Frank often used the plane to cover his sales territory, blending work with the joy of flight.

A devout Christian and active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Granbury. He volunteered monthly in Fort Worth to help build Braille Bibles.

Also was actively involved in church life. Though he never had children of his own, Frank touched countless lives with his generosity, compassion, and unwavering love for others. He supported numerous charitable causes and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Frank is survived by his two sisters, their families, and his brother-in-law. His ashes will be laid to rest with military honors at Riverside National Cemetery in California, escorted by his sisters Sandy Roberson and Linda Westbrook.

A celebration of Frank's life will be held at the EAA hangar on the Pecan Plantation Airpark runway on Sunday, September 14, at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Orbis, Christians United for Israel (CUFI), or a charity of your choice.
