Mary Frances Shifflett

Mary Frances Shifflett, 74, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Mrs. Shifflett was born on December 26, 1949 in Elkton, and was a daughter of the late Wilson Shifflett and surviving Loraine (Meadows) Shifflett.
Fran retired from Sunnyside Nursing Home where she worked for many years as a nurse. She also worked for the East Rockingham Clinic in Elkton, and for Dr. Oviedo. Mrs. Shifflett enjoyed cooking and camping. She was a mom to many. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and friends, and cooking for large gatherings.
On March 9, 1967 she married Rodney Ray "Weasel" Shifflett, who survives.
In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Shifflett is survived by her children, Tina Marie Sipe of McGaheysville, Tony Cole Shifflett of Rockingham, Benji Ray Shifflett (Lisa Coffman) of McGaheysville; siblings, Joyce Shifflett (Donnie), Kenny Shifflett (Debbie), Ray Shifflett, Velva Hensley (Earl), Donna Shifflett (Keith), Bruce Shifflett (Lisa); five grandchildren, Andrew, Hannah, Sophia, Josey, Cody; brother in law, Jimmy Shifflett (Barbara); numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday February 11, 2024 at 2 PM at the Elkton Chapel of Kyger Funeral Homes with Pastor Theresa Moore officiating. Burial will be held privately.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening February 9, 2024 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
