Lois Turner Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 3, 2025.
Lois Ann Turner, 80, of Shenandoah, Virginia, passed away peacefully at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville on October 31, 2025.
She was born on July 13, 1945, and on June 8, 1963, she married the love of her life, Daniel Carlton Turner. Together, they built a home and a life on their family farm in Shenandoah, where Lois devoted herself as a loving homemaker, wife, and mother. Her kindness, patience, and quiet strength were felt by all who knew her.
Lois was a faithful and lifelong member of Newport Christian Church in Shenandoah, where she found joy and comfort in her faith and her church family. She cherished spending quality time with her family and friends, and was well-known for her love of Christmas music-often playing it throughout the year-her visits to local thrift stores, and her enjoyment of watching QVC.
She is survived by her children, Toby Scott Turner, Mark Anthony Turner and wife, Lisa Jean Turner, Steven Daniel Turner, and Christopher Carlton Turner and wife, Lisa Marie Turner. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Anthony Turner, Megan Turner, Jeremy Turner, Daniel Turner, Caleb Turner, Cassandra Turner, Brayden Turner, and Presleigh Turner; her sister, Doris Comer; six great-grandchildren, Adisynne Brill, Dylan Turner, Mason Turner, Raegan Turner, Bentley Turner, and Waylon Turner, and one great great-grandchild, Maisley Maclam.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Carlton Turner; her parents, Madelyn Smith Kite, Nelson Kite; step-mother, Novella Kite, and her daughter-in-law, Penny Jean Turner.
Lois will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love, family, and faith will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 2 p.m., at Newport Christian Church in Shenandoah, Virginia. Family hour will take place one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow at the Daniel Carlton Turner Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and cards, the family asks that donations be made to Shriner's Children's Hospitals, an organization dear to Lois's heart.
