Mary Katherine Shotts, 76, of Indianapolis died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 26, 2022. Mary was born on April 27, 1946 to Raymond Montgomery and Betty Jean (Brooks Montgomery) Swift. Mary was a 1964 graduate of Scecina Memorial High School and a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.
On January 29, 1966, Mary married the love of her life Robert Shotts, he survives. Mary is also survived by her children; Robert D. Shotts, Michael R. Shotts, and Vicki L. (Nick) Vivaldi; siblings; Robert (Nancy) Montgomery, Mark Montgomery, Paul Montgomery, John (Sharon) Montgomery, David (Julie) Montgomery, Cheryl (Gary) Gray, Karen (Rick) Jacobs; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy D. Shotts, Kristyn L. Shotts, Michael R. Shotts, Jr. (Tera), Jessica D. Shotts, Gina L. Vivaldi, Amanda R. Vivaldi; 4 great grandchildren, Lauren, Alyssa, Gracie, Ethan ; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary retired from H & R Block, volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul Society and in the office at Our Lady of the Greenwood. Mary enjoyed going on field trips with her Keenagers group, taking winning visits to nearby casinos, and enjoyed being out at the lake relaxing and fishing. Mary was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother Thomas Montgomery, brother in-law Charles Rockey, and daughter Jennifer L. King.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood, IN 46143 from 9 a.m- 11 a.m. A funeral mass will immediately follow the visitation. Burial will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 910 N. Morgantown Rd., Greenwood, IN 46142.
Memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Greenwood or St. Vincent de Paul Society, 3001 E. 30th St., Indianapolis, IN 46218.
