Mary Lynne Sides

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ms. Mary Lynne Sides, 69, of Anniston, will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Sills officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest immediately following the service in Anniston Memorial Gardens. Mary entered the gates of Heaven, meeting her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Preceding Mary in death were her parents, Gordon and Francis Surrett Sides; and her brother, Jackie Sides. Left to cherish the memory of Mary includes her son, Lance Braden (Mandy); her granddaughters, Emily Sanders (Broxton), Sydney Braden, and Piper Braden; and her brothers, Terry Sides (Janis) and Charles Sides (Elaine); one nephew; and seven nieces. Mary was born in Anniston, Alabama on June 13, 1956, and a graduate of Saks High School. After graduating high school, she went to Ayers Technical College where she obtained her degree in Stenography. She worked for Anniston Vocational Rehabilitation Services until her retirement in 1996. Mary was baptized as a teenager at Saks First Baptist Church. She loved to worship the Lord through her solos, Bible study classes, and being a part of the choir every Sunday. She later went on to do the same at Anniston First Baptist Church at McClellan. Mary loved being a mother and cheering on her son Lance, throughout his school years when he played sports. She later did the same thing for her granddaughters for softball, basketball, and marching band. She loved watching the Crimson Tide play and she would not hold back her ROLL TIDE yells. Her favorite color was anything fall. She and her family would take multiple trips to Cheaha to see the changing of the leaves, it was truly something she would look forward to every year. Mary was an avid reader and getting lost in a good book was something she did often after retiring. Pallbearers will be Terry Sides, Charles Sides, Phillip Sides, Jeremy Creech, Broxton Sanders, and Elliot Huddleston.
