Born December 27, 1936, in Medina, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Caroline (Iorio) Ottaviano. She was a graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1954. She married Richard J. Siedlecki on July 13, 1957, and the couple resided in the Medina area, raising a family of two children. Mary worked in customer service at Niagara Mohawk for the majority of her career, but also held positions at FMC Corporation, Medina Central Schools, and Bernzomatic. She was an accomplished bowler and softball player, and a lifelong parishioner of Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Medina. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Richard “Shake” Siedlecki, in 2024 and brother-in-law, David Siedlecki in 2021.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cynthia (Joseph) Tretter of Mt. Juliet, TN and Andrew (Rose) Siedlecki of Lewiston, NY; sister Angeline Wolk of Orlando, Florida; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
A true matriarch of her family, Mary took great pride in what she created with Shake and was a dedicated and unwavering source of love and support to her children and grandchildren, among whom numbered three medical doctors, two corporate executives, a certified public accountant, and an NFL player and union leader. Mary Louise was formidable. Her leadership and devotion to her family will be deeply missed.
The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the many compassionate caregivers who loved and assisted their mother.
