Frank L. W. Sargent

Frank L. W. Sargent, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born in Medina on February 27, 1946, the son of the late Lloyd and Dorothy (Robinson) Sargent.

A lifelong resident of Medina, Frank graduated from Medina High School, Class of 1964. He married the love of his life, the former Beverly Marek, on November 26th, 1966. A hard worker all his life, Frank was a dedicated employee of Fisher Price Toys for 26 years until their closing. He ended his working career at Saint Gobain. Frank also picked apples every fall for Roberts Farm.

Frank was a giving and generous soul. He was very passionate about giving blood to American Red Cross, winning an award in 2023 for donating 25 gallons in his lifetime. Frank enjoyed living a simple life, no internet, no cell phone, no credit cards. He enjoyed the Christmas spirit. His decorations and Christmas village were a site to behold. He also enjoyed shopping, going to garage sales and craft fairs. Frank was an avid Elvis Presley fan, having seen him twice live in concert and visiting Graceland. Frank and his wife Bev founded the Medina Parents Athletic Club in 1986. Together, they sold many ads, held events such as Night at the Races and worked the concession stand to help purchase equipment and improve the school's athletic facilities. Frank was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Club in Medina. In his later years, he enjoyed refinishing furniture. 

He thoroughly enjoyed attending all sporting and school events for his three grandsons. Frank was described as a giving man, who always helped those in need, whether it was gifts, odd jobs or simple acts of kindness. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Frank will be missed, however, his family takes comfort that he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Beverly.

In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his loving wife, Beverly (Marek) Sargent; in-laws, Frank (Jean) Marek; son in-law, James Owens; and sister in-law, Nancy (Robert) Kurdziel.

Survivors include his three children, Amy Owens, Jody (Gianna) Sargent and Andrea (Brian) Reigle; three grandsons, Maxwell Owens (Kelsey Englerth), Austin Owens and Owen Sargent; brothers and sisters in-law, Francis (Norva) Marek, Sandra (Glenn Skala) Marek, Gary Marek, Scott (Tanya) Marek, Greg (Renee) Marek and Brian (Tonna) Marek; many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 24 from 3-7PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 11AM at the Grove United Methodist Church, 11004 W. Center St. Extension, Medina. Interment will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville.
