Mary Margaret Squires

Mary M. Squires, 94, peacefully passed away on Thursday October 30, 2025. She was the loving wife of Ned B. Squires, and they were happily married for 72 years. Born in New York City, Mary was a daughter of the late Phillip and Margaret (Heslin) Quinn.
Mary was an avid reader who enjoyed baking, walking, and spending time at the beach in both New Jersey and Florida. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her family was truly the joy of her life.
Before marrying in 1954 to raise her family, Mary had an outstanding career in advertising. Deeply devoted to her faith, she served as both a Eucharistic Minister and lector, roles she cherished. A lifelong member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, she was active in the Women's Alliance and, alongside her husband Ned, participated in prayer group meetings. Mary was also instrumental in her parish community-she was deeply involved in retreat programs including the Cursillo Movement in 1969.
She loved watching her favorite game shows and was known among her friends as a trivia buff who enjoyed friendly competition. A passionate New York Yankees fan, Mary proudly owned an impressive collection of Yankee baseball caps. Mary will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Surviving with her loving husband Ned are her sons: Michael and his wife Debra, Mark and John Squires. Sister: Rosemary wife of Patrick Greene. Grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Jessica, Michael Jr., John, Kristen, Lindsay, Megan, Kylar and Keaton. Great Grandchildren: Jamison, Jaxson, Grayson, Henry, Maura and Levi. Mary has many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her son Stephen, her brother Phillip Jr., and her sisters Kathleen, Ann, Jeane and Christine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00AM on Monday November 10, 2025, at St. Catharine of Siena Church. Calling Hours will be 9:30-10:45AM in the church vestibule.
