Mary Kay Bonenberger Steele, age 74, of Level Green passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024 in the Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Mary Kay was born on February 22, 1950 in Pittsburgh the daughter of the late H. Raymond and Elizabeth C. (Lynch) Bonenberger. Mary Kay worked as a customer service agent for Bell Telephone and then Verizon and retired from Highmark Insurance. She was a member of the St. Regis Church in Trafford and she was famous for her chocolate mess and her potato salad. No one who met Mary Kay could escape numerous stories about her children and grandchildren or even her nieces and nephews they were always her favorite topic of conversation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Lynn Bonenberger. Mary Kay is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Donald A. Steele; her children Russell John Steele (Marie Laure), Albert Raymond Steele (Beth) and Christopher Michael Steele (Amelia); her grandchildren Julius, Luca, Elia, Olivia, Adaleigh, Augustine, Matteo, and Vianney Steele; her siblings Clare Pawloski (the late Dennis), Betty-Jo Bofo, Raymond Bonenberger (Teresa) and Michael Bonenberger (Carolyn). A memorial visitation with her urn will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130) Trafford. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in the St. Regis Church, 517 Homewood Ave. Trafford with Fr. Daniel Carr as celebrant. Anyone attending the funeral Mass please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
