Mary J. Stephens (Wolinski) ObituaryBantam - Mary J. Stephens, 83, passed away on January 3, 2025 in Torrington, Connecticut. She was born on January 21, 1941 in New Milford, Connecticut to the late Joseph and Evelyn (Bailey) Wolinski.
Mary spent 30 years working for aerospace, and later worked for Big Value Supermarket. Mary was an animal lover, she had dogs, cats and prairie dogs. Mary loved music, a core memory for her was going to see The Beatles at Shea Stadium with her friend, Patsy, in 1964. Mary and Patsy also enjoyed taking the train to see the Soupy Sales show. She enjoyed dancing at Beverly's, going to see the Doo-wop concerts and was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan.
Midge loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She would go and watch all their activities; barrel racing, softball, baseball, soccer and hockey. She loved watching it all. She even traveled to Canada for hockey camp. Mary loved traveling weather it was to visit her nieces and nephews at college or to visit Vergennes, Vermont with her mom, dad, nieces and nephews. Midge was an avid card player, however she was very competitive.
She is survived by her son, William Phelps, her granddaughter, Alexa Phelps, her siblings; Gloria Scribner, Joseph (Anna) Wolinksi and Richard Wolinski and her nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Bantam Borough Hall, 890 Bantam Road, Bantam, CT at 11:00am on March 29, 2025.
