Mary Ann Cato Stipe, age 91, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Forrest City, Arkansas, died Friday, September 12, 2025, at Hospice Home Care of Little Rock. Mary Ann was born September 28, 1933, in Greenbrier, Arkansas, to C. Jack and Winnie P. Cato and was raised in Hoxie and Walnut Ridge. After first attending Arkansas State College in Jonesboro, she went on to complete a bachelor of science degree in home economics at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was teaching home economics at Forrest City Junior High School when she met and eventually married her dear husband, John R. Stipe in 1958. Mary Ann was preceded in death by John in 2018, and also by her parents, and her sister Sue C. Warner of Arkadelphia. Mary Ann is survived by her brother, Jack Cato of Bismarck, her sister, Jane (Bill) Foster of Hot Springs Village; two sons, Richard (Becca) Stipe of Harrison, and Roger (Kymber) Stipe of Little Rock; four granddaughters, Mary Elisabeth (Jacob) Richerson, Chynna Stipe, Emily Stipe, and Lily Stipe; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Callie, Joey, Bonnie and Avery Richerson. Mary Ann was a woman of tremendous faith, firm convictions, and unwavering commitment to those things she valued above all else in life: her family, her church, and most importantly her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 20th at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City. The family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 507 N. Rosser, Forrest City, Arkansas, 72335, or the Scholarship Fund of the East Arkansas Community College Foundation, 1700 Newcastle Road, Forrest City, Arkansas, 72335.
