Mary Dolores TeVogt (Middlekamp) passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at her home in Aurora, Illinois. She was born on January 22, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the eldest child of Eugene and Anna Middlekamp. She is survived by her husband William "Bill" TeVogt, children Jon (Laura) TeVogt and Renee (Chris) Blain, and siblings Joanne (Walt Moll) Middlekamp, Mark (Christine) Middlekamp, Rose Shepherd, Charles (Norma) Middlekamp, Terri Kovach and Alice (John) Derrenkamp, sisters-in-law Sue (Wayne) Augustyn and Karen TeVogt, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and friends from all walks of life. She is preceded in death by her brother David Middlekamp.
To know Mary was to love her. As kind as she was selfless, strong and charismatic, she aspired to be "interested and interesting". She was an avid reader, loved traveling and learning about all corners of the world. Her personality was magnetic. It was easy and common to sit down "for a moment" and get lost in hours of conversation.
Mary was extremely devoted to her family. She loved her husband and children deeply. Mary and Bill partnered to run a successful real estate business until her later years when she fully dedicated herself to his required care due to Parkinson's Disease. Mary's gardens were always lush and full of flowers. She delighted in cooking creative meals out of the ingredients on hand. To share in the joy of her kitchen concoctions was a magical experience that her family will never stop emulating. She made every holiday, family dinner and visit together special.
Mary had a penchant for long goodbyes. She never wanted a visit to end. Her memory will serve as her longest goodbye, never forgotten and always in our hearts.
Visitation will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville, IL 60563) on Thursday, May 1 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. After the service, a Celebration of Life will take place at the VFW Hall (908 Jackson Ave., Naperville, IL 60540) from 12:30-3:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend any part of the day. Mary loved this time of year and its radiant color, so please wear your favorite color to the service.
We request that in lieu of sending flowers, please plant a flower, shrub or tree in her memory, or donate to The Michael J. Fox Foundation to aid in the battle against Parkinson's Disease. https://tribute.michaeljfox.org/tribute-page.php?id=3181&np=true

We are so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of Mary. Although we drifted apart in recent years due to personal circumstances, Mary's memory will always live on. We shared so many great times while our children grew up together, and we will never forget those memories. We all loved her smile and welcoming personality. Mary's memory and legacy will always live on and we are grateful for having had her in our lives.
We share in your sadness and are sending positive thoughts and prayers your way,
Hank and Sandy Nusko, Stephanie (Nusko) and George Engel, and Matthew Nusko

I will forever treasure my long distance "happy hours" with Mary. Through our children and their marriage , we gained a friendship and I gained a beautiful daughter-in-law, Renee.
It didn´t matter that Mary was in Chicago and I was in Detroit, the conversation flowed for hours. She was completely devoted to her husband and her children and they were her world. She was one of the most selfless people I knew, always caring for and thinking of others and giving of herself.
Mary will truly be missed, but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
