Mary Lee Thate, 84, of Lonoke, Arkansas passed into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Mary was born on October 10, 1940, in Lonoke to John and Lucy Carpenter.
Mary married Ernie Thate in 1959 and remained married until his passing in 1995. She enjoyed the simple things in life. Watching western shows, reading books, and putting together various types of puzzles and collecting all the new issues of quarters. She often loved trading her books and puzzles with everyone, so they, too, could enjoy them. Mary was known for her home cooking and excellent baking skills. Mary loved her nieces and nephews and helped raise them like her own.
She was preceded by both her parents; her husband Ernie Thate; brothers, Louis, Jay, and Gene Carpenter; Nephews Wayne, Les and Jeffery Carpenter.
Left to cherish her memory, sister Birtha “Sis” Larkan; Nephew, Eddy (JoAnna) Carpenter; Great Nephews and Nieces, Justin (Anna) Carpenter, Edi Carpenter, Nicholas Carpenter, Jennifer (Justin) Reeves, Cody (Sierra) Carpenter, John Carpenter; Great Great’s, Evie, Ella, Gemma, and Clayton Carpenter, Harper Summers, Freya Hunter, Warren Carpenter, Mason and Lawson Reeves; Sister in-laws Dixie (Dave) Marshall and Emma Carpenter; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel. A Graveside service will be 11:00am, Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Hebron Cemetery.
