Mary Ann Barton Thomas 85, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve morning 2025.
Mary Ann was born February 27, 1940 in Greenville, South Carolina to Frank Mauldin and Lila Mae Forrester Barton and was a loving sister to her brother, Thom (Becky).
Mary Ann married Kenneth Randolph Thomas in March 1962. They had 3 children, Melissa Thomas Ancell (Michael), Kenneth Brian Thomas, and Stacy Thomas Schwartz (Jeff). She was nana to 3 beautiful grandchildren: Tyler Schwartz (K.C.), Madison Eledge (Brandon), and Ashton Schwartz. She was a great nana to Owen, Janie, Sopia, Jonathan, Lila Mae, Magnolia and another on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken (2003) her mother Lila (1993) and her father Frank (1956). She was a member of Forestville Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina for 63 years. She served her church well. She was involved on the Benevolence Committee, choir, home and foreign mission work, vacation bible school, nursery, Sunday school and she loved to help cook Wednesday night meals. Her mission in life was to see people come to Jesus. She traveled the world spreading the gospel. She loved taking care of her family, all the babies, and she made the best biscuits in the world.
Please join in celebrating her life at Forestville Baptist Church on Friday January 2, 2026. Receiving of friends begins at 10:00am with service at 11:00am & with graveside services to follow at 1:00pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In remembrance of our sweet nana, wear her favorite color purple and come with your favorite “Mary Stories”.
