Mary Kay Thompson

Mary Kay Thompson, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on November 17, 2024.
She was born in Austin, TX in 1949 to Harroll and Esther Colson. They settled in Houston when Mary Kay was in the first grade. Mary Kay grew up and remained in Houston until her passing. She attended St Anne's Catholic School, Marian High School and graduated from Robert E Lee High School. Upon graduation she began working at Great Southern Life Insurance. She later worked for Fluor Daniel Engineering. In 1987, she began working at Shell Oil Company's Research Center in Bellaire and worked there until 2010 when she retired. After retirement she traveled and spent time with her grandchildren.
Mary Kay was a devoted mother to Tracy Wolfson and devoted grandmother to Gabrielle and Robert. Spending time with her family brought her the most joy.
Mary Kay was preceded in death by her parents Harroll and Esther Colson and brother Sonny Colson. She is survived by daughter Tracy Wolfson, son-in-law Brett and their two children Gabrielle and Robert of Houston. She is also survived by nephew Keith Colson. They will never forget how much she loved them.
Friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25th at St. Mark Houston, 1515 Hillendahl Blvd, Houston, TX 77055. Please wear bright, joyful colors.
