Mrs. Mary Dianne Thompson, aged 74, of Waco, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Born on March 25, 1951, in McRae, Georgia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Franklin Webb and Johnny Reba (Ward) Webb. Dianne was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Stoney Thompson, and three brothers, Scottie Brown, Allen Webb, and Greg Webb.
Dianne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated 25 years of her career to serving as a Department Manager at Walmart, where her commitment and strong work ethic were well recognized. When her health permitted, she actively participated in the Gospel Time Baptist Church in Draketown, reflecting her deep faith and community spirit.
She leaves behind a loving family that includes her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Darlene Newsom of Waco; her daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Tim Costner of Roopville; and her brother, William Thomas “Bitsie” Brown and his wife Gail of Dallas. Dianne is also survived by her beloved grandchildren — Taylor Nolen, Justin Costner, Lacey Rangel, Halie Richards, Brandon Newsom, Melanie Learn— as well as her many great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 1 P.M. from the Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tony Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, prior to the service, from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
Interment will follow the funeral service in West Georgia Memorial Park with Tim Costner, Brett Nolen, Landon Bailey, Justin Costner, Billy Brown, Brandon Newsom, Danny Brown, Tyler Brown, Hunter Learn and Daniel Richards serving as pallbearers.
Chuck Newsom, Aiden Richards, and Maddox Nolen will serve as honorary pallbearers.
