Mary F. Timm of Palm Harbor, Florida died on August 5, 2022.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Kelly Ann Timm (Kyle Rasmussen) (Tampa, FL) and Katy Eisenstein (Dave) (Toledo, OH); five siblings, Kathleen Ann Ryan (Catonsville, MD), William Kelly Ryan and Patrick Edward Ryan (Silver Spring, MD), and Sheila Jane Arrildt and Rebecca Sue Doss (Salisbury, MD). She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, more than 30 first cousins, and 18 great-nieces and nephews.
Mary was born in Milwaukee, WI in 1951, the third of six children of William and Rosemary Ryan. She lived in California before her parents settled in Silver Spring, MD in 1957. She attended local schools and graduated from Albert Einstein High School in 1969 where she served as the president of the school pep club. She enrolled at Montgomery Community College for two years and was elected president of the student council. At the time, college students were particularly active in local and public affairs, and the office Mary filled was significant. She then enrolled at Indiana State University where she met her husband, Douglas, who died in 2021.
Mary and Doug lived in Mishiwaka, IN for several years after their 1973 marriage before relocating to Dunedin, FL to be closer to relatives. She lived and worked in the Dunedin-Palm Harbor area for the rest of her life. She loved the Florida beaches and sunsets and looking for shells. She was employed most of her time in Florida at Pinellas Technical College, where she was known for her hard work and dedication to improving the services provided by the school to students. She also worked part-time at Discovery and a local Hallmark store.
From an early age, Mary was recognized as an outgoing person with great creativity in the visual arts. As a young person, she was always organizing activities for her friends and younger sisters. She and Doug became stain-glassed artists while living in Indiana and created a number of memorable works. She became an accomplished gardener whose flowers and shrubs were part of her daily conversations with friends and family. She was especially fond of roses and orchids. Mary was a devoted parent, working as a volunteer girl scout leader and devoting countless hours to swim teams and practices attended by her daughters. Her family also recalls her efforts to become a top-notch chef and recall with great affection some of the wonderful and innovative meals she prepared for them. She also participated in the Red Hat society for a number of years to share thoughts and offer support to other women.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Pinellas County Humane Society. An announcement of a celebration of Mary's life will be made shortly.

Kelly, Katy, and siblings of the Ryan clan. Pam and I wish to send you all our condolences. Mary and Doug were life long friends of mine and will always hold a special place in my memories and my heart. We always enjoyed our time together and when Doug and I shared high school memories we all laughed till our sides hurt. We all laughed when we we recalled the fun time at their wedding! Although Mary didn´t laugh as much as Doug and I did. And of course Kelly and Katy will always be my second and third daughters. Love to you all.

Sad to know of Mary´s passing. She was my best friend in high school. We also worked together. She talked well of her husband and daughters. She will always be a good memory to me. My sympathy goes out to her family and friends.
