Graveside services for Mary Louise Townsend, 84, of Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Highland Cemetery; Pastor Larry Hawkins will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Townsend passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at her home. She was born March 22, 1941, in Ada to Solomon Claude and Martha Welsh Huddleston.
On May 8, 1973, she married Sammy Darrell Townsend. Mrs. Townsend was a secretary at Stonewall Elementary School until her retirement.
Survivors include her husband, Sammy of the home; son, Ted Townsend; daughter, Cynthia Townsend; sister, Barbara Smith; five grandchildren, J.D. Knighten, Jesse Townsend and wife Paige, Bandy Brashear, Cheri Branscum and husband Matt, and Kasha Mitchell and husband Kevin; and great grandchildren, J.W. Mitchell, Holden Mitchell, Hudson Branscum, Mattie Branscum, Lane Branscum, Brooklyn Branscum, Makayla Newberry, Peyton Newberry, Dillon Palmer, Lynlee Townsend, and Samuel Townsend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Jack Huddleston, Don Huddleston, Tommy Huddleston, and Richard Huddleston; sister, Joan Freeman; and son, Kenny Leflore Townsend.
Bearers are Kenny Maxwell, Frank Cranford, Kevin Norman, Bill McGehee, Dean Osborn, and Riley McGehee.
