Mary Helen True

Frankfort – Mary Helen Grider True, age 95, of Frankfort, Kentucky passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 6, 2025. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Robert Hutcherson and Bro. Mike Napier officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
She was born on November 4, 1929, in Mercer County, daughter of the late William Hollis Grider and Florence Beatrice Drury Grider. She retired from Fruit of the Loom after 45 years and 6 months. She also cleaned Farmers Bank through Mackey's Janitorial Service for 45 years and 5 months. She was a longtime member of the Choateville Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Hollis Charles (HC) Grider, Billy Buford Grider, and Russell Andrew Grider.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Faye Harp, of Frankfort; sons, Michael Thomas True (Georgie) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Larry Scott True (Becky) of Frankfort; two sisters, Betty Ray Grider Hughes and Katherine Barnes (Marion) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 55 great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dylan Bryan Oerther, Austin Ray Oerther, Aaron Lane True, Robert Alan Hutcherson, Matt Doolin, Bobby Hall, and Eric Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mayo Christian Church in Harrodsburg, Kentucky or the Bluegrass Care Navigators.
