Mary Knight Urian

Mary Knight Urian passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, at the age of 105. She was born in Delaware City, Delaware, on February 3, 1919, to Edward and Jane Sylvester Knight.
Mary was a lifelong member of Ewell's St. Paul Methodist Church in Clayton, Delaware. She was active in the Morning Circle, participating in all their dinners, bake sales, and mission activities. She loved baking dozens and dozens of cookies for their annual Cookie Walk. Mary loved reading, puzzles, and crocheting. Hundreds of her baby blankets have wrapped little ones in her love. She adored her grandchildren and great-grands.reading countless stories to each one.
For many years, Mary was a volunteer at the Delaware Home and Hospital in Smyrna. She enjoyed working in the gift shop interacting with the residents and visitors.
In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by her husband, Charles Urian, Jr.; son Charles Mark Urian; her brothers John Knight (Lula), Preston Knight (Thelma), Edward Knight, and Russell Knight, and sister Ethel Council (Ernest); grandchildren Brian Jacobs and Matthew Jacobs; great-grandchildren Keegan and Jody English.
Her memory is cherished by her daughters Betty Savin (Lewis) of Clayton, De, Charlotte Jacobs (Tim) of Scottsdale, AZ,, and Jane Ragains (Fred) of Dover, DE; her daughter-in-law Sandy Urian of Clayton; her grandchildren Michelle English of Felton, DE, Charlie Baker (Lisa) of Clayton, DE, David Ragains (Josie) of Raleigh, NC, Aaron Jacobs (Bridgett) of Minneapolis, MN, Jacob Urian (Melissa) of Clayton, DE, Amanda Fairley (Dustin) of Fairbury, NE, and Rebecca Fabi (Mat) of Clayton, DE, and Katie Savin (John) of Northeast, MD and Amy Marvel (Everett) of Bridgeville, DE; great-grandchildren Destiny Baker, of Florida, and Brianna Baker of Clayton, DE, and Zyair and Eliza Swan of Harrington, DE, Bo and Ellie Fairley of Fairbury, NE, Paisley Urian of Clayton, DE, and Cannon Fabi of Clayton, DE; Stevie and Paige Roussell and Dixie and Bentley Beck, and Lucas Carpenter and Charlie Woerner, and Chase and Stephanie Marvel. The family is very grateful for the services of the Lions Club of Smyrna-Clayton and Delaware Hospice.
Services will be private at a later date.
