Mrs. Mary Brand Venters

Mrs. Mary Brand Venters died Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at her home in Huntington,WV. She was born in Morgantown, WV to the late Bessie Matson Brand and the late Archie Camden Brand on September 12, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Venters, Jr. and a brother, Warren “Bud� Brand. Mary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was active with the Prayer Group, Bible Study, and Presbyterian Women where she also served on the Caring Committee. She is survived by her brother Eugene Matson Brand of Purgitsville, WV; four children, Daniel and his wife Jane of Somerset, KY, Carol Lehman and her husband Tom of Cairo, GA, Nancy Linscott and her husband Rick of Canal Winchester, Ohio and Susann Venters of Huntington; grandchildren Joseph Venters (Kelly), Andrew Venters (Heather), Emily Coomes (Nathan), TJ Lehman (Megan), Timothy (Salli), Chris Linscott, Eleanor Stephens, and Delaney Stephens; great grandchildren Payton and James Venters, Clementine and Beatrix Coomes, Henry Lehman, Rose and Joseph Lehman. She is also survived by two nieces, Deloris Ratliff (Rusty) and Pat Ornick (Chip). Her memorial service will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 at 2PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Huntington. The family will receive visitors at the church following the service. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary, Huntington, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to First Presbyterian Church, Huntington.
