Mary Ann Vernetti passed away May 18, 2024, at Providence St. Peter Hospital surrounded by her family (loved ones). She was born on May 8, 1945, to Adam and Mary Gunski in Superior, Wisconsin.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Mary; two infant brothers; and grandson, Brody Edwards.
Mary moved to Southern California as a child with her mother and siblings and she attended school and graduated from Pomona Catholic School, where she proudly served as song leader. Later she was employed by General Dynamics. She married Larry Edwards and moved to the Olympia area. They adopted Lori and John. Mary went to work for the State of Washington.
She married Bob Vernetti in 1990 and they lived in Olympia and enjoyed golf and traveling while they raised their children. She held many different positions with the State over the years until she retired in 2004.
After retirement, Bob and Mary moved to Laurel Oaks where Mary enjoyed sewing, quilting, card games at the club house, puzzles, and shopping. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she always decorated their home and hosted parties for family and friends.
Mary is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bob; daughter, Laura (Larry); son, John (Sherry); grandchildren, Mason Bryant, Shyann Bryant, Paige Bryant, Courtney Edwards; and siblings, Adam Gunski, Helen Beuchner, Carol Stevenson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
