Mary Sue Anderson Voss, 94, employee of the Maury County Board of Education and resident of Williamsport, passed away January 13, 2024, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. with Jonathan Jones and Rusty Colvett officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Born April 12, 1929, in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Anderson. Mary worked as the cafeteria manager for Maury County Schools for 34 years, 2 of which being at Woodrow School and 32 at Baker Elementary. She was a former member of the FCE Club of Shady Grove – Family Community Education. Mary enjoyed cooking for family and friends, quilting, gardening her flowers, and attending Arkland Church of Christ.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Paula (James) Cox of Columbia, TN; Anita (Huey) Smith of Hampshire, TN; grandsons, Mike (Julie) Cox of Franklin, TN; Chad (Amy) Cox of Columbia, TN; David (Casie) Cox of Columbia, TN; Hugh (Brande) Smith; granddaughters, Mary (Matt) Ryan, Janie (Nicole) Smith; great-granddaughters, Maddie (Brendon) Moss, Caroline Cox, June Cox, Catherine (Davis) Cofer; great grandsons, Hueston (fiancé, Debra Warren) Smith, Colt Cox, Luke Ryan, and Luke Cox; sister-in-law, Frances Voss; several nieces and nephews, and special Friend and neighbor, Gloria Hood.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Voss; her brothers, James Anderson, Charlie Anderson, Sammy Anderson; and sisters, Martha Barker, Marie Filson, Alma Grimmett, Kay Baxter, Beulah Marshall.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the Step-Down staff at Maury Regional Medical Center, Caris, and NHC- Maury.
Pallbearers will be Mike Cox, Chad Cox, David Cox, Hugh Smith, Hueston Smith, Matt Ryan, Luke Cox, and Davis Cofer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gloria Hood, Norris Johnson, Freddie Voss, Rip Baxter, Kim Hoffman, Dan and Tracy Shelton, Kerry and Jeanie Crocker, Snooks and Jean Kelly, and members of Arkland Church of Christ.
