On August 27, 2025, Mary Virginia was called to her heavenly home. She was lovingly referred to as Gin and GG by her family and friends.

Gin was born on June 3, 1926, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Paul Birch and Georgia Mae Wilson. Throughout her life, she loved music and to play the piano. In middle school and high school, she accompanied choirs and soloist at their competitions. Additionally, at Hardin High School, she played the French horn, was a cheerleader, and graduated as valedictorian in 1944.

On June 12, 1949, she married Hugh Henry Walker. They had two sons: Richard "Craig" Walker and Jon Marshall Walker.

Gin was always friendly and kind to everyone she met. She held many jobs that allowed her to share her kindness and joy for life with everyone she encountered. Gin was the Office Manager at Dr. McVey's office in Kansas City, owned a grocery store in Hardin, Missouri, was a realtor in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was an Office Manager for Presto, and eventually retired to Golden, Missouri, and lived on Table Rock Lake.

Upon retirement, she loved to play cards, play piano at church, swim in Table Rock Lake, crochet blankets, and visit her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Additionally, she and several girlfriends, who had all lost their spouses, created a traveling group and named themselves "The Wacky Widows." This friend group visited all continental 48 states and Germany.

GG's faith in Jesus was the most important thing to her, closely followed by her family. She was active in the United Methodist Church throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, in 2000. She is survived by her two sons: Richard "Craig" Walker (Laura) of Kansas City, MO and Jon Walker (Melanie) of Wichita Falls, TX; grandchildren: Paul Walker (Sara) of Edmond, OK, Amber Swanson (David) of Lakeside City, TX, Brianna DeHaemers (John) of Kansas City, MO, and Joshua Walker of Kansas City, MO; great-grandchildren: Cade Walker, Alexandra DeHaemers, Adele Walker, Carson Swanson, Brynn Walker, Nicholas Walker, and Cruz Swanson.

She will be laid to rest at Rosemont Cemetery in Wichita Falls, Texas. Private interment will take place at a later date.
