Mary Ann Welter, 84, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024. Born on May 29, 1940, in Schenectady, New York, to her late parents, Joseph and Thomasina (Calvenese) Macherone. Mary Ann's life was a testament to the power of unwavering love for family and the simple joys that create a life well-lived.
Mary was a life long resident of Schenectady, NY. She worked at Ellis Hospital in the bookkeeping department. Mary's warm personality made her not only an invaluable employee but also a beloved colleague. However, it was in her role as a mother and a grandmother that Mary truly excelled. Her family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she embraced every moment with them with her whole heart.
Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Gallo, and her cherished grandchildren, Sara and Nicholas Gallo, who were the light of her life. The bond she shared with them was unbreakable, and the memories they created together will be treasured forever.
She is also survived by Teresa Capovani and her husband Ed who has always been there for her along with their daughter, Angela Capovani and her husband Brent Bochenek. She is predeceased by her long time companion, Douglas Schrom.
A woman of simple pleasures, Mary Ann found joy in the company of her animals, the excitement of scratching off lottery tickets, and the comfort of family gatherings. Her evenings were often spent indulging in her favorite television shows, a pastime that provided her with relaxation and entertainment.
Family and friends are welcome to the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., on Tuesday, June 11th, from 3 to 4 PM. A Funeral Service by Father Isopo will follow at 4 PM.
